Dansan with the best view in Jeju Island (단산)

 Jeju Island, which has a different attraction from Seoul, is one of my favorite area in Korea. I used to visit Jeju Island 3~4 times a year to walk along the Olle trail. Jeju Island has many things to see, such as Mt. Halla, beautiful sea, various oreum (Jeju Island is called the "Oreum kingdom" because there are 368 kinds of oreum. It is a peak made from volcanic eruptions.) and so on. 

 

 Among them, I will introduce today is Dansan in the southwestern park of Jeju with a view Sanbangsan, Gapa Island and Mara Island. It is a not-so-high mountain 158m, but the scenery of Jeju Island is unique there. 

 

 This has become 'Dansan or Bagumji oreum (簞山, 破軍山)' because it looks like the shape of a giant bat with its wings open or a bamboo basket.

 Dansan is not a touristic place, but a place where only Jeju residents know about it. It is also a hidden place that only I want to know. I recommend this place to those who want to enjoy the scenery of Jeju Island or those who want to visit a quiet place rather than a crowded touristic place or those who want to see the sunset. It is not difficult to visit because there are several bus stops near Dansan. I recommend you visit here using Kakao or Naver map. As you know, Google map doesn't work well in Korea. 

 

 It takes 20~30 minutes to get to the top, but the road is a little steep, so it may seem hard. Once you reach the top of Dansan, you will see a wonderful view of Sanbangsan, Gapa Island and Mara Island at once.
