Eating in Korea: Jejudo #3 Anthracite cafe (앤트러사이트 카페)

 One of my favorite walking paths in Jeju is the beachside from the Hyeopjae beach to the Geumneung beach. Walking along the beachside often makes me feel like I've traveled to another country. Perhaps because of the brilliant blue sea color and the long stretch of sand. The Hyeopjae beach is so famous that it is always full of people. In comparison, Geumneung beach next to it is always quiet because people don't know it well, even though it is better than the Hyeopjae beach. 

 

 Many travelers rent cars when they travel to Jeju. As a result, people park their cars in the parking lot and leave after looking around the famous tourist spot. So they can't recognize the more beautiful places they have just a little bit more away from the tourist attractions. I was one of those tourists who traveled mainly to famous tourist destinations and restaurants on Instagram. Then, I happened to now Olleh trail in Jeju and I started walking around Jeju on my two feet. Since then, Jeju was not the island I knew before. As I started to walk slowly, I started to see the scenery of Jeju that I had not seen before, and I remember it for a long time. The Geumneung beach is also a beach that I found from walking along the Olleh trail. Ever since I found out, I've been to the Geumneung beach more often than to the Hyeopjae beach. 

 

 The Anthracite cafe is near Hyeopjae beach. Although it is not within the 14 course of Olleh trail but it is a cafe that can be reached if you walk slightly away from the 14 course of Olleh trail, so when you are thirsty, you can leave the Olleh trail for a while and stop by the Anthracite cafe. And this cafe is near to Hanllim port where you can take a boat to Biyang Island.

 

 

 The cafe is a space built by remodeling the starch factory and has a very natural interior. I don't go to famous cafes very often, but this cafe often goes because of its awesome interior and delicious desserts. 

 

 There are several branches of this cafe in Seoul, and among them, the Yeonhui branch is best. That branch is also a crowded place, so I don't go often, but I visit it sometimes. In fact, there are a lot of cafes in Seoul other than this cafe, but not as many as there are places where the interior makes the coffee taste better.

 

 Considering the price of Jeju, the price range of this cafe is not that expensive. There are so many cafes and restaurants sell something at exorbitant prices so it makes me sometimes lost interest in Jeju.

Anthracite Coffee Jeju Hanlim

 

 All seats in the cafe are made of wood or iron, so as not to damage the interior atmosphere. There is much interior stuff that seems to be made of something that has already been used and discarded, so it's more neat and nice. Of course, the staff who are always busy do not greet me with kindness or smile. However, they are responding well to the requirements.

 

 The types of desserts here are different depending on the season and usually, 5~6 kinds of desserts are ready. I tried a few things and most of them were delicious. I ordered 'Pecan square' when I visited this time and it was so delicious that I almost forgot that I ate lunch a few minutes ago. I wanted to order some desserts more but I decided to put up with it because of dinner.

 

 

 The toilet was cleanly maintained and able to go out of the cafe. 

 

 

I recommend this restaurant for those who:

- have a plan to walk 14 course of Olleh trail

- love coffee and dessert

- have a plan to visit Jeju Island
