Eating in Korea: Jejudo #4 Imgeumnim bapsang (임금님 밥상)

 I stayed in the center of Jeju city when I traveled there. I searched for a restaurant to eat breakfast and I found a lot of places to open at 6 am near the airport. Most of the menu is Haejangguk but I don't enjoy Haejangguk. So I didn't have many options but luckily I found a restaurant called the 'Imgeumnim bapsang' (It means king's table). This restaurant is a place that serves various seafood dishes. 

 If you don't rent a car, you can get to the restaurant from Jeju airport by bus or taxi or walk. (Taking a taxi costs about KRW 8000 to KRW 9000 and takes about 15 minutes. )

임금님밥상

 

 The entire first floor of the building is used as a restaurant and there's a lot of parking lot next to the building do you don't have to worry about the parking lot.

 

 I thought the food in this restaurant wouldn't taste very good because they sell anchovies, icecream and so on in the restaurant and there are a lot of bad restaurants near the airport. But when the side dishes to come out, the prejudice disappeared. They serve 11 kinds of side dishes and each side dish is so delicious as homemade. (The side dishes change depending on the season) I ordered two servings of grilled fish. (KRW 9000) By the time we were almost done eating the side dishes, they served three different kinds of fish. It also changes depending on the season. It's good to taste three different kinds of Jeju fish. 

 

 Above all, it was the happiness of KRW 9000. It's KRW 9000, with 11 kinds of side dishes and 3 kinds of good quality Jeju fish. Especially considering the price of Jeju. When you visit Dongmun market and try street food, it's KRW 9000 for octopus skewers and KRW 4000 for one croquette. I always surprise when I visit Dongmun market every time because of the expensive price. And the restaurants that are famous in Jeju cost about KRW 15000 per person. Compared to that, this restaurant is really nice. 

 

 There are two other things that I liked about this restaurant, kindness, and cleanliness. It's a large space, but it's very well managed. There aren't many employees, but they are really kind every time with my requests.

 

 

I recommend this restaurant for those who:

- want to eat something near to the Jeju airport

- love seafood (Especially fish)

- have a plan to visit Jeju Island

- is looking for a cheap local restaurant
