The garden of morning calm (아침고요수목원)

 The garden of morning calm is located at the Chulyong mountain and the most famous arboretum among private arboretums. In 2012, it was selected as a must-visit place in Korea by CNN. It has 10 theme gardens on 100,000 pyeong (A pyeong (abbreviation py) is a Korean unit of area and floor space, equal to 36 square Korean feet) of land. There are also festivals with different kinds of flowers in each season. it is located in a place that is not difficult to go by public transportation in Seoul, you can visit Nami Island, Chuncheon, and Provence Village together on the same day. 

 

 The garden of morning calm was founded by professor Sang-Kyung Han (honorary professor of the department of horticulture, Sahmyook University) and it opened on May 11, 1996, as a private garden. He came up with the idea of establishing a beautiful, world-class garden while staying as an exchange professor in the US in 1993. 

 

 There are places like Seoul Forest, Hangang Park and Bukhansan where you can feel nature in Seoul, but if you have time, visit this place where you can take a walk full of green waves mixed with colorful flowers. And there are various spots where you can take pictures.

 

 I recommend visiting early in the morning of the weekend or visiting on weekdays because there are too many people on weekends. There are cafes, bakeries, etc. inside, but it's expensive and it's not very delicious, so you'd better bring a drink and a simple meal in your bag. There are plenty of places to rest in every corner of the walk. So don't look around in a hurry, walk slowly, sit down and enjoy the scenery while drink and take a snack.
